Make a DIY wood toolbox, paint it or stain it, and give it as is or fill it with food, plants, or yes, even tools.
Source: Flower Patch Farmhouse
I’ve seen wood toolboxes, both vintage and new, used in gardens, as centerpieces on farmhouse tables, and filled with mason jars holding silverware, among other things. Making your own would make a special and super useful gift! The tutorial I’m linking to provides all the steps to make your own, using inexpensive wood and basic skills. I think it would look as nice with a simple stain or painted white as it does with the bright, fun color shown here.
You could give this alone, of course, but there are also a TON of things you could fill it with:
- mason jars filled with flatware
- mason jars filled with flowers
- mason jars filled with food items (like this or this)
- potted plants
- a set of fabric napkins
- containers or bags of cookies or candy
- gardening supplies
- home maintenance supplies (like, um…tools)
If you wanted to fill it, what would you fill it with?
