The weather people are telling us this is the last of our nice fall weather for awhile and that we’ll be getting buckets of rain this week (starting today…). So I took a look through the garden on Sunday and harvested everything I could find:
Not pictured are the half-ripened tomatoes I went back for after putting all this away – there were enough of those to fill two brown paper bags (well, the bottoms – I use the bags to ripen tomatoes at the end of the season). They’ll provide us with tomatoes through this month for sure – maybe into November even! How’s the weather where you live – summer-like, fallish, or already winter?

This week’s host is Brooke from Creative Country Mom:
Time is getting away from us dear garden friends! It seems every day the leaves are disappearing and the colors are yet to peak in Southern Indiana. We have had rain, rain and more rain… and WIND. Hope all the leaves don’t blow off before we can enjoy them.
The garden is still blooming, but slowing way down and looking quite ragged in a few areas. I am trying to keep weeds at bay and save a few seeds. I will be planting bulbs by next week and pulling out spent annuals. I cannot believe I am even thinking of this yet, but we have had some nights in the low 40’s and frost just north of here. But it has been a beautiful garden year in 2014. If you have not been following my garden posts, you can take a tour of my country garden here.
