Welcome to the Tuesday Garden Party! I had a great time visiting the link-ups from last week – wow, I tell ya, I’m always inspired and always learn or see something new. Here’s a few I’m highlighting (although it was hard to not include them all…but then it would’ve been just the same as the link-up, huh?):
Mimulus from Garden Grumbles and Cross-Stitch Fumbles – this is me learning something new: these flowering plants (also called Monkey Flower) come in all different colors and supposedly bloom all summer. Thanks – now I have another plant to lust over!
I thought this container planting formula from My Flagstaff Home was genius – and if I can remember it, it should save me time and money next year at the nursery!
I’ve never seen a pumpkin blossom the size of this one from Maple Hill Farm, have you?
I completely agree with Green Bean/Green Phone Booth – every garden needs a few sunflowers!
I was thrilled to see a new blogger, A Hungry Pilgrim link up with a beautiful blueberry-peach-ginger pie – um, yum! And what an inspired combination, too!
And the news from my garden? I shared a harvest on Facebook, have enjoyed the scent of the first sweet-pea blossoms (they were planted waaaay late and I wondered if I’d see any at all…), am gearing up to make the season’s first Three Pea Salad with Feta (I plant all three types of peas, but this salad also works with just two, or even one in a pinch), and am watering like crazy. I think I’ll get a break there, since the forecast is calling for rain for the next few days. Not sure how much that will help, as our grass is looking like it’s August already – I guess I’m not used to having to water so much in June!
