Thank you to all who participate in the Tuesday Garden Party each week! Even though I don’t always have time to leave comments, I do try to get to most of the entries and I really enjoy seeing your gardens and getting inspired by your projects! Here are a few that stood out to me from last week’s party:
I really like seeing what’s going on in other’s gardens, so Shelly’s garden update was fun for me! Her hostas are a bit bigger than mine, and she’s got a nice crop of vegetable seedlings going that she started indoors – yeah!
This inexpensive DIY garden hoop house from The Local Kitchener is perfect – easy to move where needed as well as easy to make. I think something like this will give your little seedlings the perfect head start! I’ve found that even covering with cloth-type row covers helps even cool-weather seedlings grow better, so this should really help warm-weather plants like tomatoes and peppers get growing faster and healthier.
Angi at Schneider Peeps planted a few more fruit trees for the orchard she is building – sigh. I love the idea of an orchard. We have trees planted here and there, but it’s just not the same as an orchard. Maybe next house. She questioned the advice she read to prune newly planted fruit tree branches to within 6″ of the trunk, but I’ve never done that – I want the trees to grow the first year – and haven’t had a problem. What do you think?
Finally, I just have cupboard envy, period, after seeing Lisa’s amazing canning cupboard made by her dad. Wow. Plus – hello? All those organized jars full of garden produce? Seriously, it makes me want to go to my cupboard and start cleaning and organizing to try and get it to look like this.
Pipe dream, I know.
And now – I’m ready to be inspired again!
