There were lots of great links, as usual, at the Tuesday Garden Party last week! It’s so fun to see the various flowers and different things people are harvesting at this time of year.
This bouquet in honor of the 4th of July by Tammy at My Flower Journal was so sweet! I not only loved the color, but the fact that they are wildflower-cottagey types of flowers which seems to represent the American countryside to me.
I don’t even like cantaloupe, but the photos of Angi’s ripe fruit (Schneider Peeps) was so impressive! It’s hard for most people in the NW to grow melons, period, let alone harvest a good amount. Ah, that southern climate…
Reading about Kath’s (This One Good Life) bing cherry harvest had me practically drooling. I’ve only been able to pick cherries from a friend’s trees once a few years ago and I STILL dream about the tasty dried cherries those lovely bings made. Sigh…
As for me and my house – last week was all about peas, and this week is:
We’ve been eating them for awhile, but they are coming on strong now and I’ve been able to freeze, dry, and make some fun recipes as well as eat fresh (so good on my morning granola!). I’m planning a round-up type post with preserving how-tos, recipe links, and such for later this week, so be sure to be on the lookout for that!
What fun garden things do you have in store for us today?
