Ways To Save (Or Rather Earn): Ebates

It’s been awhile since I’ve mentioned Ebates– almost exactly a year, in fact. That would be because I don’t do a lot of shopping- online or not.

Um, yeah…that would be why I’m writing a frugal lifestyle blog. Do you think thrift stores will be added any time soon? *smile*

For those who don’t know, Ebates pays you cash when you shop online and go through their site to the shop you want. Each shop gives a different percentage of your total dollar amount, but it’s usually between 2% and 10%. It’s pretty painless, and it’s what I like to call “free money” since it comes from something I would’ve done anyway.

Throughout the year I place a few orders online (Amazon doesn’t participate, so you can’t get Ebates from them, but that’s what Swag Bucks is for!) and I do like to shop online to avoid the crowds during the holidays. I think I shopped at Old Navy and Borders mostly.

And I received this today in the mail:

Not a huge amount, but completely free- I mean the few seconds it takes me to go to the Ebates site hardly counts, does it? No coupons, so surveys.

Someone just wants to give me money? Wha-hoo- I don’t care how much!

So if you’ve thought about joining, but don’t think you shop enough, I’m here to say every little bit helps.

And if you sign up now, you’ll get to choose a bonus- the normal $5 Ebates OR $10 gift cards for Target, Barnes & Noble, and Home Depot among others! You can get bonuses for referring friends, as well, but the cash-back is the main reason I love Ebates.

How cool is that…getting money just for using a site to go s hopping? That is pretty cool ) :) :) I do a little on-line shopping, but mainly if I can’t find what I want locally!! This is a great tip. Thanks :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
