I’ve been hard at work behind the scenes updating old posts in preparation for creating a ‘Cottage Tour’ landing page (one of my goals for 2014, if you recall) with the goal to have the page ready to go by the end of January. With that in mind, I’m going to be sharing my progress with you each Tuesday leading up to the day I announce the finished page. I want to do this for a few reasons:
- The original posts were done in the first year or so of the blog and most of the photos were too small. Seriously – it was hard to see what was in the photos many times!
- When I migrated the blog from Blogger to WordPress in the summer of 2012, much of the formatting of old posts got messed up, creating huge blocks of text that I didn’t want to read, let alone new blog readers.
- I love these remodels and I want them to find a new audience.
- The remodels illustrate one of AOC’s founding principals: you can create lovely environments with simple diy skills, on small budgets if you let go of perfection. I’m here to say that if we can do this, so can you!
With that, here are the first of the updated DIY remodeling posts:
The Bathrooms: Stuck in the 70s to Cottage style
Bonus! Go here to see a funny video Brian made about our bathroom remodeling saga – from his point of view.
And let me know what you think and if you believe in diy remodeling, too!
