The popular Garden Success Plan Notebook has been completely redesigned!

One of my favorite things in the AOC VIP Subscriber Printable Library is the Garden Success Plan Notebook. It's one of the things I believe has truly helped me grow successful gardens through the years, which always involve learning and adapting.

I detailed some of the benefits of keeping basic records here, as well as how I've organized garden paperwork through the years in a gardening binder. If you haven't read that yet, I encourage you to take a look because I always find it helpful to see what other people keep track of and how that's useful!

Using the Garden Notebook for Vegetable Planning

While all the pages in the notebook record useful things that are useful to have a record of, the most valuable part to me has always been the diagrams of my vegetable beds from year to year. I plan the beds in late winter or early spring and the plan guides me in both starting seeds and buying plants (how many do I need of each vegetable) and where to plant the transplants when the time comes.

But the value doesn't stop there - I also update the plan as I make changes or additions, which helps me plan better for the next year.

And most important of all when you are gardening organically is that these vegetable plans are a record of what was planted from year to year so you can rotate what you plant in each bed. This is one of the main ways to discourage recurring soil-born diseases.

Using the Notebook for Flower Gardening

All this is to say - keep a basic journal is a key part of gardening! And not just for vegetables - how many times do you wish you could remember what shrub or perennial you planted in what spot? Especially when they've disappeared for the winter. And if something dies, you have a record of that so that you don't plant it again in that area if it didn't like it.

As an added bonus, when we sold our home, the buyers were super excited to have the copied plans I gave them so they'd know what was going to come up the next year. Man, I'd love to be given something like this when moving to a new place, wouldn't you?

The Garden Notebook Journal 2019 Redesign

I'm super excited to introduce you to the completely redesigned Garden Notebook Journal! When I saw these cute garden themed drawings and images, I just knew they would make a sweet update to the notebook. And am I right? I LOVE it.

My designer daughter and I have completely updated all the pages to coordinate and added a few more so the total printable pages in this subscriber freebie is now 16!

• Blank Notes Pages (I suggest you print LOTS of these pages!)
• Past Garden Records title page (print one) - here's where you move all your previous yearly pages to so you have a great record!
• Divider Tabs & Spine (optional to print one if using a binder and tabs)
• Back Cover page - (optional print one) - This is provided if you have a binder with a back cover pocket or you want to spiral-bind your notebook (TIP: print the cover and back cover pages in a heavy cardstock for spiral binding).

As you can see above, all the pages coordinate and look great together. I'm really looking forward to updating my notebook with the pages and I hope you are, too.

One of the things I really wanted to add was a title for the spine if using a binder with a clear view window. Now it's easy to see which binder is your garden notebook when it's on a shelf.

And including a back cover page is just fun for a binder, but really needed if you want to have this spiral bound. I really wanted to give you more options for binding and using the notebook.
