Our Yard & Garden Tour Page

Come take a Yard and Garden Tour at An Oregon Cottage where you'll find inspiration, best plants, and links to easy garden techniques

Ready for a tour of our entire yard and garden? I realized that although I've shared a ton of information about our gardens (How to Plant a Garden the Easy Way, Vegetable Gardening 101, and 11 Easy Care Plants for Every Garden, to name a few) and our outdoor DIY projects like our backyard makeover, I've never actually shared our whole property with you.

Little did I know it would take me so long. I started this article weeks ago by taking the photos, but 20+ photos later I realized there were so many things I wanted to share with you that it was going to be a monster!

I hope you think it's worth it - I wanted to make it useful and inspiring to you and not just a "here's what we've done" type of article, so I took the time to include the names of most of the plants that you'll see (the ones that have done well for us) and links to my other articles where you can find more information as well as many how-tos.

I also throw tips in where ever I can about things we've learned along the way as we transformed this standard flat acre into land that provides food and beauty for us all year around.

How to Take the Garden Tour

So, how to view the tour? Since I wanted it to always be easy to find, like our Home Tour, I created it as a page and placed it in the drop-down menu under the Organic Garden tab above. You can also click the link below to go straight to the new AOC yard & garden tour page:

    AOC Yard & Garden Tour

There are no comments on pages (unlike the 'post' articles like this one and most of my updates), so I hope you will return here and let me know your thoughts on it! Do you like it? Is it helpful? Are there any questions you have about it that I didn't answer in the article?

You can also comment on Facebook, Instagram, or by hitting 'reply' on the email you get if you're part of the AOC VIP email list!

    Thanks for stopping by friends!

It all looks so lovely and having a big garden myself I know how much work you must put in to keep it so trim. I also know how hard it is to leave it. At least in America you still have lots of space, here in the uk when Nick and I downsize we may have to be overlooked and after 20 years+ of living in the middle of nowhere it's going to be quite hard. I'm sure that when you market the property it will be snapped up! It's a treat to the eyes.

Thanks, Julie- we sure hope so! You don't think there are smaller places for you than where you are now? That's too bad - it's nice to have options, that's for sure.

Thank you for more more beauty and information. I love your blog and especially your recipes! I have passed on your site and recipes to so many people!

I have one question about the top of this page. The window where you can sign up for email updates always is positioned on top of your blog name and further descriptions of your site. Everything above your menu bar is blocked. I'm wondering if this is because I follow you on my iPad. I'm only mentioning it because I've always wondered if you knew or intended it to be that way.

Thank you again for your contributions to my life, cooking and garden!

Thank you for your sweet words, Tonnie - they mean a ton to me and I'm so glad you've found useful things here!
I only just realized this last week about the tablet format - no it's definitely not what I want my site to look like and I'm sorry. I'm going to have to find a tech person to help me with it though, since I have no idea about that kind of stuff so it may be a bit, but I am needing to fix it (and it is only on tablets it does that).

Jami, you and your family have created a beautiful green space with fantastic curb appeal. And that's just the front! And I agree about garage conversions that leave the driveway in place.....horrible. I think your home will sell fast and summer in Oregon is when the houses look the best. Are you listing it soon? Have you noticed how many bloggers are selling and/or buying this year?
      Best Wishes.

Thank you, Dee - your input is encouraging! And I thought it was just me who thought that about all the selling/buying going on because we are in a selling mode (you know how you get a new car and suddenly it seems like everyone is driving the same car?) 🙂

Jami-everything I could see on my phone looked spectacular! We are camping this week so I am computer- less... One quibble- when I tried to enlarge a photo to see the beautiful plants, a giant purple pinterest 'P' appeared in the center of the photo so I couldn't really see it!

Thanks, Michele! Sorry about the Pin icon - I can't adjust it on mobile, it's just a plugin that covers all the formats. I'll remember that whenever I do a new design or look for a new plugin for pinning, so I appreciate the feedback. 🙂
