I can’t believe I’ve neglected to update you all on the video I worked on with Brian that I wrote about last April after our first shoot!
It was a fun experience (well, other than the part where they make you talk in front of a camera…) with some great people and I’m so glad I got to be a part of sewing new nursery items for a family that is taking in foster babies. The video is sorta like a TV home-makeover show – it even runs for about 20 minutes!- complete with drama and deadlines. It was sponsored by Janome sewing machines as a way to highlight a new machine they introduced at the beginning of this month.
Even though it was sponsored, and some of the video may feel contrived (after all, I’m no actress!), I’m proud to have been a part of this project! The family were real folks who have (and are facing) hardships, yet continue to want to help the often drug-affected babies who need homes. They are truly wonderful and I feel priviledged to have met them. The three other ladies and I really did sew all the projects, which were made with donated fabrics. They have some mad sewing skills- make sure to check out the quilt, it’s amazing.
I also wrote a couple of guest posts for Sewing Good, a site that partnered with Janome during this project. One was about my wedding dress- which a friend’s mom sewed for me- and another was about working on the nursery projects. You can even see me in the sidebar as one of the “Janome Gals.”
Yeah, pretty much everyone is calling me a movie star around here.
OK, maybe it was just my sister.
OK, maybe she just said she liked it and that I looked good.
That’s close, isn’t it?
