Here we are at a new year – and a new Three Things with updated graphics! It was this time last year that I started writing on Saturdays to have a place on the blog to connect a bit more with you all and share the little things that didn’t fit into recipes, gardening or DIY posts. I’ve talked about things we’ve done, products, items & links I found useful or enjoyed, the books I’ve read, and other random tidbits of life.
I’ve really loved the response you guys have given me about this series – both specific ideas like books to add to my to-read list as well as your general “I love the 3 things posts!” that I saw again and again in our first ever AOC survey. And it’s probably the post I look forward to writing the most each week, so it’s not going anywhere in 2016. Here’s to another fun year with you guys! (Note: the links I provide are often affiliate links, though not always.)
We woke last Sunday to this dusting of…something. It looked in places like snow, so we called it that until we started driving around and realized it only looked like snow on roads. You couldn’t see it on trees or hardly in the grass. So I guess it was ice/sleet. Bah. It looked pretty and white for awhile, so we’ll take it!
I’m pretty sure I mentioned my goal of clearing out the Christmas decorations that I didn’t love or use anymore, right? (Yep, right here when I talked about our decor ‘plan’ for the holidays.) So I’m pretty excited that we went from 6 boxes down to 3! (Sorry for the lousy picture – I snapped it with my phone in our dark dining room right before these went up to the attic.) We also pared down our outside lights from three bins to one – yeah! KonMari success feels good.
I’ve been reading about the online used clothing site, ThredUp, for awhile and finally made my first purchase – leather belts to replace two crumbling ones I’ve had for years. I had been coming up a big zero in local thrift stores and new leather belts are expensive. I got these at 40% off, so they were $8-12 (and were from J.Crew & Banana Republic) with free shipping – and free returns for credit. Pretty sweet, right?
As if that wasn’t enough, they came with the best packaging I’ve ever received! Cute box that came with layer after layer of surprise. What a fun, fun box – it was seriously like Christmas all over again! Well, it worked – I totally want to order from them again whenever I need something specific. 🙂 If you’d like to check them out (and potentially get a box like this!) click here through my referral link (and if you use it and like it, you can refer friends to them, too, for credit).
