Hello, friends! Are you enjoying your summer? I have SO much to share today with you – after months of preparation it’s really happening – we put the house for sale signs out and the listing uploaded to Zillow and Craigslist last Sunday night, the 3rd. Can you guess what happened?
Read on to see, plus the shoes I’m wearing most and the links I think you’ll love! (As always, some of the links I provide are affiliate links.)
Our house up for sale! We’ve sold and bought houses ourselves in the past and were comfortable putting the house on the market (in a good sellers market) as a For Sale By Owner, especially since it’s so easy now with sites like Zillow. Brian put the signs out Sunday evening and I got the listing onto Zillow at 10:00 that night. We were thinking that since people would be home for the 4th holiday, they might spend a bit of time looking on Zillow – and we were right!
So here’s the other part of our “house for sale” news: we’ve already accepted an offer – and we have 2 good back-up offers!! The signs and listing have already come down and we’re now moving into the “holy cow, we have to actually MOVE now” stage. We only had to show the house 5 times – which I actually found to be fun, since I got to talk about the house and what it used to look like (any of you DIY-ers know we love to talk about this stuff!), but it’s nice to not have to be “on” all the time in ready for a potential showing. We’re seriously blessed with how quick and easy it’s been and know it!
The shoe I keep reaching for – even in the summer. I’ve had a pair of black and white slip-on sneakers (similar to these Keds shown above, but solid black with the white sole) since last summer that I find I wear a LOT. Every time I need a casual shoe that’s not a sandal or bootie, this is my go-to.
I wear them with socks in the winter and have been wearing them sockless since the weather turned warmer. They are comfortable even without socks, but as you might guess, they do tend to wear on my toes after awhile. The solution? My third “thing” for this week:
The new sock that’s making my easy shoes even more comfortable. I just got these SHEEC SoleHugger No-Show Cotton Non Slip Socks a few days ago and wore them all day long with my slip-ons, they were so comfy! Here’s what they’ve got going for them (versus other, thinner, cheaper no-show socks I’ve tried):
- They’re cushiony- but not too thick.
- They have a non-slip pad on the heel that truly makes them stay on your foot.
- They don’t show – they’re nude colored and are low enough to not show with my sneakers (they would show with my leather flats, though).
Love them for these sneakers!
