Happy Saturday! Welcome to our weekly ‘Three Things” post where you’ll find a peek into my week and some things that are making me happy.
I’ll start with three things, however, I don’t want to be limited by that, so don’t be surprised if there are often ‘bonuses’ at the end – just to keep you on your toes! (Note: the links I provide are often affiliate links, though not always.)
Maybe Facebook is listening to us? I know those of you who use FB are like me and really tired of missing posts of pages we’ve liked as FB decided they knew better about what we’d like to see. So I’m happy to report that last week they rolled out a ‘new’ (remember when we’d only see what we liked? Ha!) option to see pages you’ve liked. Finally!
This is a simple fix, thankfully: go to a page you’ve liked (um, An Oregon Cottage?) and hover your mouse over the ‘liked’ button in the header. A drop-down menu pops up and the default will be checked. Simply click on the “See First” option and you’re done! Hopefully now all of you who’ve told me you don’t see AOC’s posts anymore will be back in the fold. 🙂
Our daughter went with us to a family visit in LaPine last weekend, which we always enjoy for the family time (duh) and the beautiful setting. These pictures are taken at Pringle Falls on the Deschutes River and if you ever have a chance to visit you should jump at it!
Want to know the weird thing? Oregon’s normal weather pattern is WET Willamette Valley (where we live) and DRY Central & Eastern Oregon (LaPine is Central Oregon) and this year is flipped – it rained the whole time we were there and followed us over the mountains. But stopped just as we drove down the mountain – and we had blue skies and dry ground. It’s the opposite of what we’re used to – kinda like what I hear from gardeners at the Tuesday Garden Party all over the country. It’s just a strange weather year, isn’t it?
This Rada chef’s knife is the one I pull out most often when prepping all our garden produce for salads, grilled vegetables and preserving. It’s lightweight, not too big, and cuts great.
Since these three books I read (in 2 weeks, yeah!) are all eBooks, I’m putting them in the bonus section – maybe they don’t ‘count’ fully towards my reading goal, but I’m super happy that I’m prioritizing reading anything. I just read an article about how satisfied and successful people are always learning – and 70-page ebooks on topics that have nuggets of wisdom like these? That’s what I was missing last year when I didn’t attempt to find and read regularly.
