22 Easy Bread Recipes Without Eggs
Some of the best bread recipes out there are naturally made without eggs, making it easy for those who are avoiding eggs, are having difficulty getting eggs, or would like to keep the cost down to still enjoy bread. If you are looking for bread recipes without eggs, you have come to the right place – here you’ll find more than twenty recipes for everything from pita bread, to monkey bread, to banana bread.

I know there are quite a few people who are avoiding eggs for health reasons, either from an allergy or sensitivity, or because they want to live a vegan lifestyle. And lately eggs have gotten much more expensive than they used to be, so you may just want to use less eggs in general.
The good news is that you can make quite a few breads, both yeasted and quick, that do not call for any eggs.
And while there are quite a few breads that naturally don’t use eggs – like a good artisan bread or baguette, for instance, that is simply water, yeast (or sourdough), flour, and salt – there are also other breads that replace traditional eggs with egg substitutes (like flax) or use no eggs at all like some quick breads, muffins, and scones.
If you’re trying to avoid eggs – or just to use less eggs – here are 22 of the best bread recipes without eggs from both this site and others. You can definitely have your bread and eat it too – without eggs!

4. Homemade Whole Grain Pita Bread
While it may look like pita bread would take a lot of time to make (mixing, rolling, etc.), they actually don’t! No comparison!

Truly an “anyone can do it” bread with a perfect crust that comes from baking it in a dutch oven. Once you try this, you’ll never go back to $5 loaves…

16. Easy Eggless Milk Bread – Wild Wild Whisk
Looking for a moist dinner roll that doesn’t include eggs like my whole wheat dinner rolls? Here’s your answer, though it does use dairy to get that tender crumb (milk is known for tenderizing breads). Obviously skip the egg wash and go with a cream wash – it would be just as good.

The same idea as the beer bread above, but in a convenient muffin form. You could flavor the muffins with other things, too.

18. Classic Cream Scones @ Add A Pinch

I have been making yeast rolls for quite a while now but this time, I forgot to put the egg and didn’t realize it until the bread is done. When I tasted it, I could not tell the difference – I didn’t really miss the egg and it did not have any effect on the dough. Well, now I know I can skip the egg.
Wow, I didn’t know that, Edna – I thought they made the dough more tender. I’ll have to experiment with that, too!
My cast iron frying pans are constantly being used in my kitchen. Now, they’ll be for bread! Also my (sort of) recently scored cast iron Dutch oven (Lodge, no less, from Goodwill!). Can’t wait to try the bread recipe that’ll go in this new addition. Thanks!
What a find, Beth – you’ve got the “Goodwill touch!” š
