Do you all remember a few years ago when I shared how turmeric had healed our dog's hip/leg issues? I was pretty excited to share this natural healing story with you, because it was (and still is) an amazing thing to us. In the time since publishing that article we've gotten lots of questions (as you can imagine) about our dog, Samson, mainly if the turmeric is still working and how he's doing now. This seemed like a perfect thing to update with a video so you could see first-hand how Samson walks, runs, and generally romps around as an 8 to 9-year old dog (we're not exactly sure of his age since he's a rescue dog).
You can see the video update, along with our kooky dog here:
Basically, the video illustrates that Samson is doing fantastic. He not only walks and runs without limping, he also has almost no problems getting up from a sitting position (we used to think his leg fell asleep all the time, ha). That turmeric really has been a wonderful thing for him.
The only downside we've heard of from others is that some dogs will not eat their food with turmeric on it - they are that sensitive (stubborn?) about it. Samson loves his food so much that he never turned his nose up at it, but if your dog won't eat it, that would be a problem. There are turmeric capsules that I've heard of people taking and maybe that would be a way to get it into dogs who won't eat it. The turmeric has worked so well for Samson, that I would try lots of options if it's at all possible if your dog has similar issues. Do let us know if you try this and how it works for your dogs (or cat!).

Great video! We also have a rescue and she will be 15 in May so we are dealing with issues too. She has skin issues and ear infections a lot. I have researched and tried so many ideas. I wished she would eat dry food like that, she is so finicky. I really love your videos - keep them coming. Remember I think "A Day In The Life" video would be a great! (On your eating) I still attempt to follow your eating guidelines, I was sick over Christmas so I threw everything to the wind and had to eat carryout( my husband doesn't cook) but we managed:)
Btw, I made your ranch dressing mix for baskets & used your printed labels.. Thank you so much! That was soooo easy & quick! Love your blog!

Wow, 15 is really old for a dog, Teresa - you should be really proud that she's lived so long with you! Sorry to hear she's finicky. 🙁 I do think about your comment and we're trying to come up with something (but making videos are hard for me, uck!). The ranch dressing gifts were well-received here, too. 🙂
