Podcast Ep. 43: Books into Movies – The Good and The Bad

You know those books you loved that were turned into movies you didn’t? Or maybe you did. There are definitely good examples of this on both sides. In this episode we share some of our favorite books and what happened when they got turned into movies. Some were great adaptations. Others we couldn’t watch all the way through. We also talk about the ultimate food for movie-night-at-home: Pizza, with tips and recipes. Plus, more farmhouse remodel updates and some cool new things we’ve discovered.

The Good:

The Bad (i.e., terrible movies from REALLY good books- obviously we’re linking to the books below because we hope you read them!):

And the book we’re looking forward to seeing on the screen (hopefully!): Red Rising

And we’d LOVE to hear from you – what are your favs or not-so-fav books-into-movies?

Farmhouse Updates

west side farmhouse siding

I shared this photo with AOC’s newsletter readers (sign up here to get behind-the-scenes like this!) and thought I’d share it here, too since we talked about the siding in the updates section. This shows where we’ve been able to salvage the original old-growth fir siding and where we’ll add new board-and-batten. The board-and-batten will continue around the back of the house, encompassing the new bump-out, and onto the other side, up to the 2-story section.

One thing I haven’t mentioned – this house has always been white. Isn’t that cool? I’ve always wanted an all-white farmhouse and I feel like we’re helping it to be what it’s meant to be. šŸ™‚

We also talked about our permit being issued (yay!) and not being able to catch more gophers (boo!).

What’s Cooking

Baked Quick Homemade Pizza Dough

Movies and pizza nights go hand-in-hand at our house (well, and burgers, too). Here’s how to get great tasting pizza on the cheap – make it yourself in less time than it takes to go to the store!

This is Really Cool!

ezviz camera

Brian’s: EZVIZ S2 action cameraĀ for sports and water activities – think GoPro, but super affordable.

airpods

Jami’s:Ā  Apple AirPods – a need at this price? Probably not, but if you’ve got birthday money, these are really, really, cool.
