Christmas decorating ideas don’t have to be complicated or over-the-top to be beautiful and festive. There are so many great ideas floating around on Pinterest, blogs, and magazine websites where we can get a ton of inspiration for our own Christmas decor.

Each year I move farther and farther away from lots of ‘stuff’ preferring a clean, airy look at the holidays which incorporates a lot of natural elements like greenery, wood, and pinecones. Which pairs perfectly with the modern farmhouse look of decluttered, open spaces. To that I like to add vintage touches, which seems very cottagey, so here we have a collection of simple farmhouse cottage Christmas decorating ideas, all gathered with the idea to inspire you in some way this season.

These ideas include DIY projects as well as decorated rooms to see how to put it all together so you (and I!) can craft a simple holiday decorating scheme with a farmhouse cottage feel.
