Podcast Ep. 24: Tips for Making Exercise a Habit + Healthy Snacks & Meals
In this episode, we’re diving into all the benefits of regular exercise (you probably know all that) and then into how we’ve made it a habitual part of our lives. We – of course! – approach making exercise a habit from completely different backgrounds (one a star athlete, the other not getting picked for team sportsā¦can you guess?) and share what’s working for us. Jami shares some great food ideas for getting into better shape and then discusses the old question, “Can you exercise yourself to a healthy weight?” All this, and more including the best CHEAP vacuum you’ve never heard of (and that’s the good kind of cheap).

Making Exercise a Habit

This is the article mentioned where I discuss the issue of exercise and weight loss as part of my series on real food weight loss. And you can find my easy, do-able 15 minute workout routine here.
This is what Brian based his workout on: the New York Times Scientific 7-Minute Workout. Have you tried this? Apparently it’s pretty popular and they’ve created advanced workouts, too.
What’s Cooking

Some of our go-to healthy snacks & meals:
- Snacks: Roasted almonds or nuts and dried plums; granola protein bite; apple with nut butter; fruit; carrots and hummus; triscuits and cottage cheese (Brian’s fav).
- Main dish salads:Ā Greek Tuna Salad with Artichokes, Olives & Feta and Steak Salad with Creamy Garlic-Pepper Dressing; Slaws like spicy-asian-slaw and Shaved Cabbage Salad with Creamy Feta Vinaigrette
- Main dishes: Baked White Fish with Parmesan-Herb Crust {ready in 20 minutes}, Spiced Lemon Skillet Chicken with Kale & Beans and Soy Sriracha Marinated Chicken (grilled or baked) with roasted or grilled vegetables.
There are more recipe ideas in my Real Food Recipes for Weight Loss Ebooks.Ā
This is Really Cool!
Brian: Printful for creating your own t-shirts cost-effectively for gifts and more.
Jami: The amazing Black and Decker Lightweight vacuum cleaner for cheap that I also wrote about in the Good Things List No. 1.
