The most popular DIY and gardening projects of 2017 – ten of the most visited projects published in 2017 and eleven from all-time, everything from preserving helps to home decor. See if yours made the list, or find a new one you missed!

Here we are with another best-of 2017 list, this time consisting of the two other areas of focus on AOC, do-it-yourself and gardening projects (you can see the 18 most popular recipes of 2017 here). I find it endlessly fascinating to do the research needed to compile these lists and learn what articles resonated with you? And then, what didn’t?

The surprises on this year’s lists (plural since I’m breaking this up into two lists, one for content published this year and one for content from the life of the blog, just like the recipes) include the hand cream, the blackberries (though it shouldn’t – they are TOO good), wrapping a box, and the #1 article published in 2017.

Looking through the most visited articles (according to Google Analytics), I realized that the content from this last year was more heavily garden focused vs. DIY. There’s one simple answer to that: we didn’t have a house to do projects on! And what we could do at my mom’s where we were staying was basically yard stuff. So maybe 2017 was the year of the garden? Or I should say, shade garden, since it was my first time growing containers with little sun available.

But there are exciting things coming to AOC in 2018 – things that will involve a LOT of DIY projects and before-and-after photos. I can’t wait to announce it and take you all on this new journey with us!
